Hello, So today I was expecting to receive a 1945 2.5 peso gold coin in the mail today from Harbor Investments, when I received a 1955 5 peso gold coin!!!!! The post office accidentally mixed up an order, and this coin was supposed to go to someone in Flordia ! I want to fix this mix up, but I do not know what to do, what do yall think I should do?

Perhaps you might contact the company who sent the coin out FIRST and keep the PO out of it for now. The other guy who got your coin SURE WILL KNOW what to do! :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Hold the package. You will be given instructions from the company that sent the coin what to do. If the other customer's contact info is in the package, call him and let him know what's going on and not to worry as one thing you are is honest. ;)

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Go easy on him, he's only 17 years old. High schools don't teach that kind of common sense any more.

I do not deserve your nice reply and have edited comments in my OP. The devil made me write the original post. :shame::angelic:

So the post office magically knew to send this package, addressed to someone in Florida, to you and your package magically to them?

Something tells me this one isn't on them.

Please contact the company you ordered from and let them know. Remember positive karma goes a long way, it could have been you on the short end of the stick having ordered a 5 peso and getting half of it. The post office had nothing to do with causing the error, the seller had everything to do with it and I am sure it was just a mistake.

Yeah - how does anybody know that the company you ordered from just sent you the wrong coin?

Post office just delivers packages that are ALREADY addressed! They don't address the packages themselves!

Thank you all so much for the advice, After looking at the packaging it turns out that my address is on the package, and they simply just put either the wrong contents in the wrong package, or the wrong slip on the wrong package. I contacted the company, and left a message, so I will try again tomorrow to contact them.

Wait until you have four figure coins that a particular auction company in New York sent out to another bidder by mistake. It did happen to me, and right before I was leaving the country for a few months but eventually I got my coin pretty quickly.

Thats crazy! I would hate to be the person that accidently sent the wrong coin, a small mistake that can lead to a big problem.

Indeed... and is another (although completely innocent) example of why we all need to think about what's actually being said/claimed instead of simply swallowing it hook, line, and sinker.

    Good luck, Brandon... and kudos.

Thank you, unfortunately I already sent the email. He said that I should send back the coin, and as soon as they receive it they will send me the coin that I ordered, and a $20 check for any inconvenience and shipping. So I will still get a gold coin in a couple of weeks, but it will be half the size, and will contain half the amount of gold.
