    2 SBA P dollars on the wrong planchet. The SBA planchets are supposed to be reeded and 26.5mm. These two are not reeded and 28mm wide. I assume a foreign coin planchet since no US coins are 28mm. The core looks to be bronze. Anyone know how to determine what foreign coins were minted in Philadelphia in 1978/1979? Thanks.

    @BaconSlayer
    Looks to be Broad struck out of collar.
    That would make the planchet expand a bit.
    No reeding means the 3rd collar was not in place. The core is copper sandwiched between cupronickel clad like all US Clad coins.

    Not struck on foreign planchet.

    Definitely Broadstuck on a planchet intended for a SBA Dollar.

    It’s on the correct planchet as @paddyman98 explained. It’s a very nice mint error, a Broadstruck SBA.

    Fun coins BaconSlayer.
    The collar never released when the coin was struck. That doesn't have anything to do with a wrong planchet error. All Susan B's are a copper core clad planchet easily seen in your photos. Off center Broad stuck. Here is a centered broadstruck Lincoln.
