You are supposed to take a guess at the grade, that’s what “Gtg” means.

When @delila1 gets enough guesses the answer will be posted. Give it a shot!
    …my guess is MS66 PL (proof-like)…imo…Spark

    ADDED…closing bid guess: $1,000.00

Hey disclaimer, this is not my coin. I am not promoting it, but it looked pretty interesting when I was looking around and I thought it would make for a good thread.

These are fanatics who bid on these goofball-looking things, how can anyone say where the bidding will end?

That’s why we’re guessing. That’s what makes it fun.

Bag toned Morgans are mostly only toned on one side, the side that contacted canvas bag. Since the coins were not completely flat in storage, you will often see a swatch of toning on the other side where the rim touched the bag. In these cases, it is important to verify the "toning correspondence" of the coin. For example, the coin shown above has a little yellow rim toning at 2 o'clock on the reverse. That reverse toning should match up with the area on the obverse that has the most advanced toning, meaning the most advanced toning on the obverse should be at 4 o'clock, which it appears to be.

It's too bad the Photos weren't better.
I wouldn't bid over AU for that coin

Look at these halves. They were in cloth Mint bags for most on their lives. Notice the pattern perimeter deep toning on the obverses, with little to no toning on the reverses. It's funny how these both toned like that. Now look at the pastel toning on the subject Morgan. How goofball is that? It just looks very oddball to me. To each their own, I don't need to be lectured on that.

Those were never subject to sitting in dark dank bank Vaults before seeing the light of day. There is no comparison.

I agree. I don't like the toning either.

The PCGS trueviews, while glamour shots, show the toning on this coin to be more natural than the seller photos. I would have said AT all day long with a seller photos. But see for yourself, this looks like spectacular, but market acceptable, toning on Morgan's.

Less weird neon and mixed muddy colors.

Funny how wonky/ misrepresented photos sometimes make a coin go for a lot more money. Whereas there are plenty of us that wouldn't have got anywhere near that coin with those seller photos.

That's why with PCGS at least I always look to see if there are photos, or HA photos. It's nice to get some alternate images so you can see more of the full picture.

Yeah much more flattering. It was the blue green tone guy that really wanted that one.

Take away the holder and it's just another pretty face.
