NMF - The Not My Fault Thread

I would bet that a full third of my current collection has been as a result of me seeing an interesting coin here on CT. I lay the full responsibility of this most recent purchase on @lordmarcovan (in a friendly way of course).

I haven’t received this Taler just yet but am looking very forward to holding it. Now that I am old with failing eyesight, larger coins appeal to me….. A year or so back, I read a legit news story about Bigfoot sightings on the little island where my weekend getaway shack is. Shortly after that, our esteemed Lord displayed a “Wildman” 2/3 Taler here on CT and I was rather taken with the piece due to its Wildman/Bigfoot association….. So when I found this one on EBay, the bidding war was on!

Nice example and be careful they are quite addictive I am told. I kept seeing coins shown of Faustina I, wife of Antoninus Pius. I really wanted one but it was only recently that a nice example came up for sale.

 

I keep trying to blame CT. Sometimes @lordmarcovan .But my wife doesn’t buy it

There’s something funny lookin’ about that cat, but I sure recognize it savaging the corner of the sofa!

 

I still add a few here and there when I can afford them. Still the favorite part of my collection.

 

Most interesting coin find (CRH) got me into a war nickel obsession for a little while.

The coin that started this silly thread arrived today. Unquestionably the largest hunk of coin I have ever owned. Pretty impressive in mass. And the old Wildman is sporting a hunk of abs.

 

Nice purchase. That’s a better type too.

 

I know it’s not my fault but the wife thinks otherwise.
