I'm very sorry that this happened to you and your family. I "liked" your post, and several others, not because I like what happened, but because that's a way to let you know that you've got a friend that will listen and support you through all of this. You will never like, and probably not understand, how a friend could do this? I've read that our worse scars don't come from our enemies, but from our friends. I recommend (I know, I'm putting in my 2 cents, that you've not asked for, but it's from an old man that's been there, done that) that you forgive him, as someone else has also stated. Don't like what he did, don't like him, even. You don't have to ever see or speak to him again, but forgive him. As long as you hold a grudge, he will still have some control over your life. He will rob you of your peace of mind, your joy. And, he's absolutely proven that he's not worth it. Remember it, in the right way, a learning experience. I pray that you get all of your items back, and I hope that nothing like this ever happens to you again, and I pray that you and your family are closer and stronger when this is through. Blessings, Kenneth

You couldn't have said that any better I am very thankful my wife and kids were not home when it happened we exercise our 2nd amendment very well but don't wish that on anybody but always prepared I hope when he gets caught that it's a life lesson for him I just want my stuff back thank you for those kind words definitely won't let this ruin my life i was not even gonna post about it. But choice too as a reminder to always stay alert even when your guard is down this world is a scary place now

Sorry if this is too personal but is this guy on drugs or so desperate that he would throw away a friendship and possibly get very hurt by you. If I caught him doing it, I would not use force. Let the police take care of it please. Someone just got killed walking into the wrong house. Kick his arse if anything. ;)
This is solely what I would do as pissed as you are. I would think it through but definitely prosecute to the fullest however.
    Just my 2 cents

As far I as know he was not on drugs I do know he lost his job a couple months ago so I'm assuming he was looking for money he did ask me last month to borrow some money but I couldn't give him what he needed definitely not gonna jeopardize my freedom or my family that and my wife made it very clear to not do anything

Awesome. Now, I hope the rest of your property is located. Anyone who bought it is now in possession of stolen property and knows it. He won't be denying it for long and will sing like a canary hoping for lesser charges.

Glad you have good police working quickly on the case.

You have my sympathies and understanding Chris. And I say understanding because I had the same kind of thing happen to me many years ago, only worse because it was someone I considered to be family for the previous 20 years. I had known him since he was 8 years old, was best man at his wedding, and godfather to his child.

In the end the police couldn't find out who did it, so I did. You could have knocked me over with a feather ! Then I turned him into the police and let them apprehend him. I got almost everything back when it was all over.

It's a crappy feeling but I'm thankful I just installed cameras around my house a month ago if it wasn't for that then who knows what would have happened when I seen his face on my camera I freaked

I "liked" your post. Certainly not because of what happened to you, but, first to let you know I read your post and stand with you through CT. And, secondly, I'm glad you were able to find out what happened, deal with it, and get most of your stuff back! I'm truly sorry you had to go through this, though. Especially the "who done it" part.

I feel the same way.... ;)
I'd hope that your collection hasn't hit the market yet. ( ie: Pawn shops etc.) .
I would check these out if the police can't locate them.

The important thing is things got taken care of the correct way. Not vigilante style. ; )

It's all about the cameras. You either have cameras or you don't. Without the cameras, you'd never know and probably still have him over for get togethers.

You said it. They are so cheap now (less than a cool coin) everyone here should have one or several. It just doesn’t make sense to me not to have that.
