Cute movie clip! Saw this scam in another movie with a 2-person team. What's with the 5 in the cash register?
One of my top favorite movies of all time. Full of mistakes. Movie mistakes: The Shining (1980) - YouTube By the way, there's one mistake not shown in the clip above. 25 years ago my girlfriend pointed it out, in regards to a cigarette Shelley Duvall is holding in one of her hands as she walks towards a door. In one angle she's got the cigarette in her hand. The scene quickly changes to a different angle at which she doesn't have a cigarette in her hand. I'm with you..... I watched and didn't catch the faux pas either. But then I am the guy that can never see the hidden photo in the dots either.
The one she gives her is not from the period. If you look in the drawer when they take out the 20 (which was from the Depression period) you’ll see more not from the period. Here’s another fast one from the movie. This one is when she first learns of his cons. Can you figure out how much he made off with?
It's not a movie but rather an old TV series. I was watching the first few episodes of the 1965 serial "The Wild, Wild West" and in the third episode about counterfeit paper money they showed the Carson City Mint which they depicted as printing paper money. They even showed interior shots with printing presses and tables full of currency.
The five dollar note was a Series 1969 Federal Reserve Note. The Secretary of the Treasury signature was David M Kennedy which was used on the 1969 and 1969 A series notes. Didn't see a letter under the series date so it was a 1969.
