My wife was counting the bills in her wallet tonight and found a 1950 D $20 dollar bill, #B 06050099 D. I've never seen one of these before. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
That is a nice find. Just don't see those like we used to. Dontcha love that dark green back? I'd keep it.
I know its not worth alot but I'm certainly keeping it. I havent seen an old style note like this in circulation for a long time.
Nah, who ever get it at the mint would either keep it or spend it as well. Now once it circulates enough to get to worn for use and gets sent back to the Fed THEN it will get shredded. (The mint doesn't shred currency.)
Nice find. I'd certainly keep it. I have a bank teller who keeps all of the nicer old notes for me. I've managed to put away a few in decent shape. One time she had a 1934 $10 bill for me. It was in nice condition for such an old circulated note, but some idiot had written on it in a circular pattern around the portrait of Hamilton, "Yes, it is real." Eh, I took it anyways.
I found a $1950 D $20 bill that is not centered, would that make it worth any more? I couldn't see how to post a pic
If it's so far off center that part of the next bill on the sheet is showing, then it'll be worth a premium. If it's just got very uneven margins, then it's no big deal.
