I think I did post this a while back, and if I did, I apologize, but if I did or didn't, what do you guys think of the 1939 DD reverse nickel? was there quite a few made with the DD reverse? I am guessing there probably was....What do you guys think?
Hey Joe! can we see some close-up Pics please? It looks doubled but there are 18 of them at variety vista website. Check it out: 1939 DDRs (varietyvista.com)
Okay Joe. Kevin, the other Connecticut resident says yes!! Let's all go to the beach tomorrow. Do some Metal detecting perhaps??
Not sure how many there are but it seems a little on the higher side to me. You have a beautiful looking coin.
That is absolutely a 1939 "Doubled Monticello" Jefferson Nickel and looks to be a high circulated condition, perhaps AU, worth a couple hundred bucks. Here is a photo of an uncirculated example for comparison. Congratulations, I have never found one in the wild, and I have handled a ton of Jefferson Nickels.
Thanks SensibleSal66, those were nice pictures, and gotta say, I am really really likin this 1939 DD reverse Jefferson nickel.....gonna start getting more nickel rolls from the bank, hey...You never know!
