You guessed it! Lucy Belle was here first, blue eyes. Maple, calico, she is sweet but oh my! Lol! I think she is part pup. Lol! Chews on metal stuff. Door stoppers lol! Wild. She is young.
How is selling on facebook? Were you able to get into the big groups? I made an account but wasn't approved because it must have been too new and didn't use my actual name but a version of my forum name.
I haven't posted anything of substance since November 2021. We have experienced so many major life changes in the last two years, but I have remained a very active collector. I have even devoted a small subset of my budget to numismatic travel. I attended my first large coin show (FUN) this summer, and I’m traveling to London on a buying trip this October. Here is one of my favorite “recent” purchases that I actually have a picture of. At this point, it will take me several weeks of devoted attention to catch up on that front. Has @yarm posted lately?
For the record Numist I have had a ginger cat named Elliot for 18 years. Fact I learned. The name for lion in North Africa is Elliol. So close. James
Elliott is all of 3 months old this week. He was the runt of the litter a few doors down. Didn't know if he was going to make it but now is chasing the other two cats and a 55lb dog throughout the house. Most def a king in the making.
I don't post nearly as much as I did in the past either...but every once in a while I stop by. Just busy with life.
It has its ups and downs. Technically, you aren't allowed to sell coins on Facebook so you have to do little things like not include $ signs to avoid the Meta bots. I don't know what the big groups you are referring to, but since I specialize in Jefferson Nickels, I sell mostly in a Jefferson Nickel Colletors group that was started by one of the top guys in the PCGS registry. When the group was 1K to 5K members, selling was good, and there were a ton of active bidders. The group is now over 15K members strong and the group is saturated by sellers, and over the last month, buying has dried up almost completely. EBay has also been extremely quiet, so I think I am going to have to give IG another shot, but my inability to make quality videos is going to hamper me on that platform.
IG and eBay have both become slow for me so I tried Facebook. The big group is called "Virtual Coin Show" and people told me that is where the sales happen (but you have to be approved by a moderator and they never did anything with my request). There is also the new My Collect website from Ian (Great Collections) that is a facebook style coin site. It had some initial fanfare but hasn't been too active.
I'm a member of the Virtual Coin Show group but since I sell mostly raw Jeffersons, I don't really post there. They do big dollar coins. Maybe I will try to sell some of my registry Jeffersons on there.
I've never posted prolifically here, even during my most active times, but I keep one foot here to check in and for nostalgia's sake. My interests have altered almost exclusively to ancient coins over the past year, so I don't have contributions to make to any discussions about modern coins or paper money. Nor have I bought any new Japanese or modern world coins, another interest that I shared here quite a bit. Nonetheless, I'll keep checking in once in a while.
