Just an awesome coin ! and if I had 50+ thousand I would make it my own...LOL as always guess the grade win a prize from my MPC grab bag, will end it Sunday night so everybody can have an opportunity, good Luck !
Guess the grade. I'm spot on with this one...Fake 1938? Otherwise maybe 58/60 Do the graders usually go easy on the grades for these early dates?
We knew what you meant. And besides, it's rude to point out meaningless errors. As my wife often tells me: "Don't listen to what I say, listen to what I mean!"
Yes, today it probably is graded at least AU-58, if not Mint State. It is an AU-58 if almost all of the luster is intact. It might even be in an MS-62 holder. I have one, but it's nowhere near that piece. I decided I just wasn't going to spend that much on the minor type coin. It's in an old ANACS "soap bar" EF-45 holder.
WOW !! you guys are good !! I have several A/U 58 pieces and none look this good the luster alone screams MS-62 at least, the obverse of this coin is virtually problem free, but at the end of the day it did go A/U 58, and since so many of you guessed the correct answer, we will do a one coin run off, which I will post herein a few minutes. @johnmilton @messydesk @Publius2 @Mr.Q @Mr. Numismatist @CamaroDMD @ToughCOINS @rte If you name appears above you will be included on the play off, if not no worries will be posting more coin soon. In the next challenge in addition to the correct grad, you will need to add additional info to be a winner before I forget heres an image of the 1838 from the previous challenge.
Ok, heres the coin for all the marbles, this wont be an easy challenge as you will need to give 3 correct answers. 1. the correct grade 2. details yes or no ? 3. CAC certified yes or no ? you will need to answer all three questions to be a winner and one guess only please !
