I want to go, but can't afford the trip from the east coast unless I have someone to share a room and/or flight with. Flights out of Raleigh with hotel close to the convention center is about $1100 for just me. It's more cost effective if I buy plane tickets+hotel for 2 just in case anyone else flys out of Raleigh NC.

    I'm going, pm sent.

Question, how does one split/share a flight?

With Expedia, it's more cost effective for 2 people to fly and stay. So it would be like $1100 for me alone or $1450 or something for 2 round trip flights + hotel. (Prices are examples, but you get the idea).

Wish I could go, but I have the same problem, Anaheim is too far from the east coast.

Finally. Usually all the good big shows are out east and us Westies are lamenting not being able to go due to cost. The tables have turned, if only temporarily.

Huh, didn't know that. But I don't usually do packages when I travel. Good to know

It's going to be a great show... can't wait.

I'll be at Table #752 in the middle of the room buying and selling coins for the entire show.

We're also having a meeting of the Glendale Coin Club (where I am the current president) and the Verdugo Hills Coin Club on Saturday, August 13 @ 1pm at the Anaheim Hilton across the street in the Huntington B&C rooms. The meeting is open to the public and we'll have Jeff Oxman speaking on Morgan Dollar collecting. We're also giving away 21 raffle prices for free to attendees including examples of a special PCGS sample slab w/ an Australian Kangaroo silver coin that we had made up for this meeting. Hope to see some of you there!

See you there Mike. I sure would like to see if I can hit up the meeting on Saturday and hearing from Jeff would be cool especially after spending a week with Mike Fey but it may not be in the cards as I'm only planning a Tuesday-Thursday trip. I might just have to extend it or come back up from the Temec area for the meeting. We'll see though. This is shaping up to be one heck of a show! -Chris

One more week!!! Woohoo!! The only thing that's going to be a pain is traffic :( I'm driving from the San Fernando Valley to Anaheim. Traffic at that time in the morning sucks to put it mildly!!

California is about the last place I'd want to go to a coin show. Don't they already have Long Beach, and several other local but larger shows a year?

What's wrong with Kansas City (no tax on coins or bullion)?

Indianapolis (no tax started July 1, 2016)?

    Heck even Detroit?

Seems we never get shows in the middle part of the US now that the ANA left Chicago. It's either NYC, Florida, Baltimore, or California. Oh well...

Those other shows in California are local shows not sponsored by the ANA. We haven't had an ANA show since 2009 in Los Angeles.

In general California is an ideal place to have large shows because the weather, year round, is moderate. No large snow storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc

So it has not even been a year since it was held in Chicago, then you had the Dallas spring ANA, Central States and it seems you never get shows anymore?

Long Beach, Fun and Baltimore don't move so those are not worth mentioning. The ANA was in Chicago for 4 out of 5 years? It is time to move it for at least a few years.
