I don't know what's wrong with it. The area is raised on BOTH sides in the same spot. Please help me identify what it is. 20230811_234837.jpg 20230811_234850.jpg 20230811_234935.jpg 20230811_234959.jpg

Looks like old fashioned "Heat Damage'.

One glance and I see damage from heat as well.

Heat would make it raise on both sides like that? Without leaving and scorch marks? Or am I thinking of a different kind of heat?

Heat causes the metal to expand. Depending on the way the heat was applied it may or may not leave burn marks, scorching or other indicators of applied heat but the coin has been subjected to heat in the area of where the metal is raised.

Some people carve a coin, others try to do things to create erro. Like in a vise job. Still, others like to apply heat. It’s a sick world out there.

Definitely extreme heat damage. It affected the clad layer on both sides. It's no mint error of any kind.
