    Hey paper currency peeps.
I have a 1950A $20 green seal in really rough shape. Not crisp, lots of creases and fold marks, pencil marks on the front of the bill and kind of faded.
Is this just a spender or is it sellable?
Photo of front and back attached.
    Thank you for any advice!

If you can afford to keep it, do so. I certainly would. They don’t make them anymore but you’re correct, the condition is not the best.

Well, it's still worth $20, but it's my age, so it's not really that old...:D.

I am intrigued by the folds, rather unusual, as if it was an emergency carry stash in a secret wallet compartment. Which begs the question, is this one you inherited & perhaps has a story behind it?

I used to go to shows with notes like that (actually, they were in better shape) & then buy a collectible note (smaller tough change over, radar or replacement) with them. I probably annoyed a few dealers but I'd stop at one of the tables where the owner looked friendly & then chat & unload a few (lower denominations too like $1 & $2). The reason I liked going to shows (& spending them) was that the dealer always gave me a look & some of them might have even put a few in their junk box for a tiny mark up. They often treated me with a bit more respect or shared little jewels of knowledge (like what was "hot," what was not or who had a good buy on a certain item). It felt good to unload the ragged/worn out notes which I felt were too poor to keep in my collection (maybe for somebody else but not mine) & get to know the dealers. It's up to you but I think it would cost too much to sell (mark up so slight).

Yes, one that I inherited and if there is a story, I'm not aware of it or what the story is. The folds looked that way to me as well. From the comments, I think I will just keep it. I'm not in any hard need for $20 and it can live in the safe for a few more years with the other ones I'm keeping. Photos attached.
    That face though!! LOL

Thank you for the story and honesty. I think I will just keep it, with the other one and the 3 older notes.
Does Kmart even still exist? LOL

What about this one with a unique-ish serial number? PL 23666688 B
It's crisp, but has a lot of flaws; folds/creases and some red ink blots on the back of the bill. I am guessing a spender due to condition and the first 2 numbers not being 6's or 8's. Let me know. Thanks for all your guys' feedback and taunting. It cracks me up!

I said photos attached and I forgot them in my last replay. Here are the others I'm keeping, with the 2 $20 green seal notes. The $2 note is one number off of having 8 unique numbers.... boo! D83456221A if one of the 2's was a 7 I would be doing back flips around the house.... LOL

The 1899 is the print on the first $1 note and while I'm not certain I think the 1917 is the print on the first $2 note.

Then I have 2 1957 $1 bills; one is a star blue seal 1957 in terrible condition, the other is a blue seal 1957b in less than desirable condition. So I don't think I would spend or could spend just because of what they are, so I will probably keep them, but it's hard to know. 1957b $1 blue seal front.jpg 1957b $1 blue seal back.jpg 1957 $1 silver cert blue seal front.jpg 1957 $1 silver cert blue seal back.jpg
