That's 1932, not 1893. Iran had switched to a solar calendar by the time your coin was minted. It's also a 1311/0 overdate, which is pretty common on this series.
Excellent. Thanks. I'm just now venturing more heavily into Arabic script coinage, so I need some time to adapt.
Lots of bargains to be found at coin shops for coins in non-Western script. They can't read it and usually won't take the time to figure it out.
Few new auction wins. Egypt, 1980, 1 Pound, ANACS PF69DCAM British India, 1910 (c), 1/12 Anna, PCGS MS64BN Laos, 2017f15, 500 Kip, PCGS PF70DCAM
A while since I got anything new for me, so here are my latest acquisitions, all GB: 1810 Third Guinea: Shillings 1704 and 1721:
i been wanting this coin forever. visited one of my lcs today and almost bought some France pieces. suddenly this appeared and i instantly put everything back and took this home.
Yes - one of my favourite designs. I nearly bought one in Cyprus about 15 years ago but baulked at the price. Then it niggled at me and eventually I had to buy one in the UK for considerably more! Here is mine:
Some random purchases at a show last week Already had a nicer example but the price was right and I have a shadow box of holed coins
I just purchased this piece: 1678 Netherlands - West Friesland 6 Stuivers as an accompanying piece to go along with another new purchase. This 2023 issue from the Royal Dutch Mint
Another new addition is this 2022 Silver Rider Ducaton That pairs well with my 1775 dated Silver Rider
Been shopping! I picked up these from an auction today - nothing startling but the 1799 Farthing is a decent grade:
This one I am posting separately as I believe it is something special. Australia 1967 Fantasy or Pattern One dollar in sterling silver and featuring a swan. Only 1500 "circulation" coins struck and, I believe, much sought after by Australian collectors. I believe this one to be genuine - I saw the old tin it arrived at the auction in, straight from a house clearance along with a Victorian Crown and a few silver threepences. See https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia78083.html Comments from anyone who knows these would be much appreciated.
