What do you make of this Frankenstein looking 1964 Lincoln Cent UNC?

    Hmm, how would I tell? I imagine if I tried to scrape it off, I'd do more harm than good.

    Give it a little soak in 100% acetone (NOT nail polish remover).

    Oh... everywhere I've read, they've said something like that would fall under cleaning your coin and is a big no-no. However, it does make me wonder how places like PCGS professionally clean them. Is that how they do that?

    A soak in H2O might help. Or acetone

    I don´t know what you have been reading, but a soak in acetone removes organic substances, does not create an altered surface and does no harm to the coin.
    It is not considered cleaning unless you rub and scrape it while submerged. As I have advised you before, read the old posts on this forum using the search function if you want informed answers to questions as opposed to uninformed which is a lot of what the internet offers when it comes to numismatics.

    An Acetone soak would be best. Do not use nail plush remover. Use industrial grade acetone and let it soak.
