Did a side job today and customer paid in 100s so as I was counting I seen this got excited didn't show him that but I was the date was the year I was born and only seen a couple of them in bad shape this one is in pretty good shape for being 35 years old in circulation after I really looked at it when I got home I noticed on the reverse ink through that's just what I call it sorry if the term is incorrect but federal reserve note is present on the back thought that was cool I'm still new but have learned so much here it was a cool find for me IMG_20230725_210353184.jpg IMG_20230725_210524527.jpg

See! You were generously rewarded for a good day's work. Not sure if it commands a premium but I doubt it. :(
Still. It's your birth year. ;)

I just love it I do it for history more than value a couple dollars more that's cool but as a personal connection with all the finds if it looks cool I keep it maybe one day I'll find a premium coin but I don't hold my breath lol love learning about it

Yep. It's a regular amusement park here. :hilarious:
Seriously. I love the history more also. I just have a hard time fathoming the idea of someone protecting a coin since say the 1800's and keeping it hidden away for over 150 years in MS condition often! How did they do it nd not showing signs of a cleaning mostly. :woot:

Dedication. I often wonder what they were thinking back then when they had it that's the thrill for me keeps the mind going iam a young buck with a ol soul and having young babys and seeing them love coins and always asking daddy is this a good one makes it that much better

Regarding you $100 note, the black lettering on the back is either some ink picked up from the note below it in the stack of sheets when it was printed, or the remains of a wet ink transfer.

If you like older bills from circulation, I find $100s the most common denomination to find. The reason is many people keep these for a long time for emergencies, etc so older notes are more likely to come in. Second would be $2 bills, since these are oddities and they are usually hoarded. Most other bills circulate freely so therefor the old ones get pulled when worn out.
