On June 10, 2023 I celebrated my 8th year of being a CT member. I missed posting due to my knee replacement surgery and today I realized my mistake. Yes, I do make them as I am not perfect but they are far few. LOL This is a misprinted political wooden nickel. This is NOT a political post in any way shape or form. Please do not comment on the candidate. I’m posting this because Wooden Nickels are very collectible. I have hundreds of them. But it’s also a misprinted one and those are difficult to find. It’s from 1968 and it has the candidates name but that’s about it. That was 55 years ago and in 1968 I was not old enough to vote. Some of you were but most of us members were not. Just enjoy this for what it is and my apologies for missing my joint date. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 8 years since I joined and I’m thankful I did. I’ve made friends and learned a lot and I’ve shared what I know.
I've been the fortunate beneficiary of a couple of wooden nickels from our illustrious @dwhiz . Thanks Dennis. @Collecting Nut I like your misprint. I also tend to buck the advice of many who say, 'Don't take any wooden nickels', for I like them too. Edit: Oh, and for the record, I was 9 y/o.
I was 2 and my wife says that I still act that way sometimes. Hmm. How does she know how I was? She wasn't born until 1973!
Those errors are interesting, and at least to me, collectible. I have some too bit don't think I have any pictures to share. Bruce
Heck, I still do sometimes, and imagine I will right up to the end. Dad's 95, and still kicking -- he's just had to acknowledge that he'd better be holding on to something while he kicks.
You still are. Young at heart. Change the 5 to a 8 on your birth certificate. Nobody will know. Plus you got all new parts
