I'd call it VG8-F12 May or may not be cleaned... If it has a straight grade 350-450... if it's details/cleaned Maybe half that as it's not an easy date to come by.. but I'm no expert on these
Straight graded in an NGC holder? If so I think a strong Fine $500+ Just an opinion That T in LIBERTY...
When you looking for values, you should mention the grading service and the grade they assigned to it. If it is over graded in the holder, it still brings a bit more than grade others might give it because some people will pay more based upon the slab grade.
I give it a VF20. Value? Approx. $800 according to: 1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar Pointed 6 - Stem Through Claw Heraldic Eagle Reverse Coin Value Prices, Photos & Info (usacoinbook.com)
They were tough to come by at the Fun Show this weekend. I picked this one up for 400. That's bout what they are doing on ebay. I dont do to many details coins but alot of these have issues and I don't mind it as much in this series.
Grade is Details. It has a scratch across the hairline but I don't think it takes away from the coin myself considering.
You have an Rarity 5 (31-80 known) Overton...O-114. My impression is that the draped bust series doesn't command premiums like the capped bust halves do for scarce die marriages, but you have an interesting coin. The TY in LIBERTY are broadly recut.
I don't find the scratch to be distracting and as such think you got a good deal. and, if it's an R5, better than good!
Yeah, look at that, interesting. Maybe he ought to get it re-holdered by somebody who knows what they're doing with these.
