My neighbor has this note and would like to know the value? I’m Thinking a 15 or 20 in grade from referencing on line. So I told him i would post it on this site to see what the experts say. Looking forward for your feedback. Thanks upload_2023-7-12_20-33-16.jpeg upload_2023-7-12_20-33-16.jpeg

Nice Note!! Not sure on value exactly but it's a great historical piece with great value in that respect.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along. ;)

Nice Fr.1215, a series 1922 $100 Gold Certificate. As far as eye appeal goes, the front which shows a portrait of Missouri Senator Thomas Benton shows better than the back, which has faded and lost a lot of its color. Collectors value notes with bright backs regardless of the grade. I value the note between $400 and $750.

Interesting factoid about Senator Benton.....he was one of the backers of the Double Eagle coin to absorb the California gold rush.

"....Senator Thomas Benton of Missouri predicted that the double eagle would be in greater demand than the gold dollar. He was right; the double eagle denomination lasted eighty-five years to the gold dollar’s forty."
