When I bought this $1 Silver Certificate I was thinking CGA was in the same class as PCGS and PMG.
Since then I have heard mentioned that they are not.

Is CGA in the SSS (Shameless Self Slabber) class?

Typically, notes encapsulated by CGA do not sell for as much money as notes graded by PMG or PCGS. They ran into some trouble years and years ago and have never fully recovered.

I think that there were times that CGA gave accurate grades, and times that they did not. So the assigned grade can't be counted on. It depends on the note.

    Thanks, all.
I'm going to list it on eBay but won't mention CGA in the title or description.
    I'll just show the image.

I mean, looks like a nice note. CGA or not.
I'm not good at grading currency, but I see some staining at the top center and maybe a fold or start to a tear at the bottom center.
Seems like a fair grade, right?

I listed the note on eBay and they killed the listing.
Apparently CGA is on eBay's "not approved TPG" list.
I guess it joins SEGS and PCI.

Are you not able to list the note at all or just not as a graded note?

I can list the note, but:
-- not show the holder, and
-- not mention CGA nor its grade.

I'll list it as raw with my own grade (CU).
And I'll leave it in the CGA holder for protection.

@kanga , don't do that it's not your style; show the note and then do one of two things:
    1. mention it's a CGA graded note
    2. remove it from the holder but send the holder when sold

CGA is not a top tier grading company as a matter of fact several years ago they
were involved in a big scandal ! PMG is really the only game in town.

I don't understand! Why does Ebay care? It should be up to the persons purchasing to make their best judgment. Maybe someone wants the CGA!!!

I think it has something to do with the integrity of the grade given by that particular third party grading company. It’s like not being able to sell prescription medicine that hasn’t been approved by the FDA.

The answer is simple, there’s allot of fly
by night and want to be TPG.S by only
offering the top tier ones they maintain
    As certain standard.

You can - actually it's required - show the holder. You are supposed to mask out any numeric grade. Words $1-1934 AgCert-o.jpg like Uncirculated or Extra Fine are fine.
