Greetings all a lady friend of mine acquired this from a veteran she takes care of. He said she can have all of them she had no idea what she had now I'll ask you / ladies and gentlemen is this a high-dollar coin? Sorry for no pic of reverse but I can get it thanks
Reverse Pic please? Nice coin! Not an expert but a pretty darn researcher. Did you even look it up? Google helps.
It looks like just another silver round. If the U.S. Government didn’t issue it, it’s not official. The price can be the owner can get for it with some marketing hype, but the general consensus will be melt plus a nominal premium, if it gets a following. The interpretation of the 1921 Morgan design is not the same as the original coin. It has a “1921” date, but it was probably made a century later.
The Redbook does not list the 1921 Morgan Dollar in proof. I think it is most likely a bullion coin made by the American Mint like it says on the package.
Replica, silver plated copper. Retails for $59.95 https://www.americanmint.com/1921-m...kFG9VtMH8RNzzrS8IXo1Y1_4-L84v0ghoC1kAQAvD_BwE American Mint is Proud to Offer the 1921 Morgan Dollar Proof Archival Replica If you're one of the numerous collectors who covet the Morgan 1878-1904 or 1921 silver dollar, you've come to the right place. A faithful reproduction of the original, this coin features a striking portrayal of Anna Willes Williams, the teacher and philosopher George T. Morgan nominated to serve as the model for the coin's obverse. The reverse depicts a bald eagle, that enduring symbol of American freedom, with wings raised as if ready to take flight.
Makes sense why the reverse wasn't posted originally now - the big "COPY" text in the middle would give it away.
Glad you found that out. It’s newer as it’s from the American Mint. If silver it’s tied to the spot process.
I'd like to know what this means: Of course, I know they want to trigger the uninformed brain (.9999, I've seen that before...) And they use Cu for copper but spell out silver.
To anyone new to the "American Mint", located in Pa., it is not in any way a government entity. It is a private mint. They do make some very attractive items but their prices are very high when they are first issued, and one will never make any money on them if purchased at issue price. Most are copper cores with silver or gold plating. I was doing a lot of business with them when they were offer this type of item at $4.95 each. Purchased in bulk and sold for a nice but not outrageous profit. They no longer sell in quantities like I purchased them.
