Nice little haul again. One day that missing rarity from your collection will be making your machine beep! The old saying applies (thankfully NOT when I was in the Parachute Regiment) "If at first you don't succeed, try again"!

Congratulations on the nice finds. It’s probably a good thing that Mercury Dime isn’t a D mint mark with that cut on the obverse. You’d hate to find the key date and have it look that way.

Then it would be a keeper. I would buy a merc book and only put that coin in it

Another crazy question. Why so few nickels? Are you skipping over them or they just hard to detect. Do you have to detect in Buffalo to find Buffalo nickels. Just being super cute

    Maybe! :hilarious:
    Great question!
I do find Nickels but not all the time. Whenever I do decide to dig for them it is when I see the low number on my screen which is between 15-18. The problem is that those are the exact same numbers for the dreaded pulltab
I can dig about 50 pulltabs before I finally get a Nickel!
Some of my Buffalo Nickel finds are usually found with other coins in a coin spill.
So there can be 2 Wheats Cents and the Nickel in the same hole.

Nope. I don't date anymore since I got married 6 years ago :woot:
I do take my wife out though. We saw the movie The Flash yesterday!

I usually wait until the movie comes out. I buy mostly UHD and Blu-ray movies. I have a huge collection of DVD movies as well. We have converted a room in a separate building that had been finished as an office for my wife when she was in college and then teaching English in High School. Anyway, I have a UHD Optoma projector, 2 Yamaha 7.2 A.V. Receivers, a Samsung UHD, Sony UHD, and Panasonic UHD Video players. I show movies and sports games. I love to listen to music while I hang out with you guys on Cointalk. I'm not much, but I like to read what you all tell us. Thanks for everything and keep on comin'.

On my rig (I go by sound) and the pull tabs and pencil ends (that metal part where the eraser is) sounds similar to nickels, but the nickel signals are much more "solid" if that makes sense.
Still some great finds with the 1916 Merc.

With the damage on the obverse, I bet you're glad it wasn't a 'D'.
    Good finds never the less,
