As currency the weight had to be regulated, the content of gold was 0.14oz but as your flip says the quality (purity) of the gold used in the alloy was not so rigorously adhered to. The word Fanam meant money and the synonym is still used today to signify wealth. Nice coin for someone's collection.

Yeah, I guess it varied from state to state, and/or depending on the rulers’ decisions to debase the coinage? So by no means a massive amount of gold, but interesting and fun nonetheless. The gold color is certainly there, and I’m betting the ones I have are at least 50%.
