Hello everyone!! Not everyone will remember me, but I am sure some of you will! I found a 1939 Jefferson Nickel with dd on the reverse of, " Monticello " and " five cents" Sorry but I have not found my microscope yet after our move back to Ct ....But I am still looking! I did use a hand held lighted magnifier so that should help you see the DD better...What do you think about the coin? And what can it possibly be worth? Thank You all ahead of time for any / all info you can add!
It is the one you see listed in The Red Book of United States Coins in the Jefferson nickels section. Your pictures are good enough for anyone to see that. I am guessing the grade might be at least around XF45. I think if it got a straight grade, you might get $100.00 for it, Raw perhaps 70 - 75 bucks. I have two and yours is nicer than mine. A great find! Congrats.
Congratulations on your find! This DD is real and it’s in the Red Book. Not worth grading and not worth a lot but it’s nice to one.
Your photos are clear. Nice find Joe. I would say that the coin is somewhere between an AU50 and 53 with the photos provided.
Thanks Cheech9712! Thanks so much Pickin and Grinin, I am happy to be back! This is more than a "club", it's like a family and have to say I missed you all...Thanks again
