What about the '08S? How did it come out?

There were 5 of them in that lot. I sold 2 at auction raw, 2 graded F12, and one graded XF45. Time to move on though... to find the next big thing.

I couldn't have bought one of those, I shouldn't have bought one of those, and I'm still smacking myself for not buying one of those. :)

Think I got fooled by that eagle. Every feather is HAMMERED! But the reverse is softer, as are the obverse letters.

I agree the eagle is hammered but the reverse isn't and when you put it on the scale the needed points to XF.
Now mind you I buy xf coins 9×'s out of 10. So that said Yeah if in the market for a 57 FE cent I be on it like a possum on a persimmon just for the obv alone.
Remember first impressions do rule 9x's out of 10. :)

It all goes back to my difficulty in grading these copper nickel beauties. They show wear differently than silver coins, and in high grade I have trouble distinguishing wear from weak strike.
