There were 5 of them in that lot. I sold 2 at auction raw, 2 graded F12, and one graded XF45. Time to move on though... to find the next big thing.

Think I got fooled by that eagle. Every feather is HAMMERED! But the reverse is softer, as are the obverse letters.
I agree the eagle is hammered but the reverse isn't and when you put it on the scale the needed points to XF. Now mind you I buy xf coins 9×'s out of 10. So that said Yeah if in the market for a 57 FE cent I be on it like a possum on a persimmon just for the obv alone. Remember first impressions do rule 9x's out of 10.
It all goes back to my difficulty in grading these copper nickel beauties. They show wear differently than silver coins, and in high grade I have trouble distinguishing wear from weak strike.
