I found this one with a small crack in the front and the back of the plastic case. Multiple colors going on especially up close. Good, bad, or about the same for these? CAM00298.jpg CAM00299.jpg CAM00300.jpg

Really pretty coin. I've seen a few in that year range with toning ranging from subtle, like yours, up to dramatic. I'd keep it.

Not attractive at all. I call the color on your coin tarnish.:sorry:

Thanks! This one was loose with some morgans, more dramatic but not as untouched.

It was inherited and purchased 25 years ago and still hasn't been touched since. Those bastards back in the early 90's!

Thanks, and ditto. Watching the DC fireworks on TV.

Blue, pinks, rainbow colors are the good ones. Colors that blend evenly rather than streaks, splotches, or stains. Black, grey and brown (except golden) are usually unattractive. That's me, let's see how others feel.

I wouldn't consider that (attractive) toning at all. Maybe it will look like the Mint medal below after another 15 years.

I must agree, looks like enviromental damage to me, not attractive toning.

I guess I should get it in an air-tight :)

They don't seem to have those pretty colors that folks like. Maybe the images are just not showing them. I don't know.

Here's a 91 that was in one of those clamshell cardboard insert holders. Once it gets to this level, where the eye appeal is great is where it gets serious. Then when it gets to lookin like the 92 well...

Remember, this is just bullion so anything less than wow is considered tarnish

I should have mentioned that the Mint medal I posted was originally in an Airtite before I purchased it. Apparently, it was the climate that did it in.

Thanks! If it's just worth it's weight I'll let it go and see what happens over the years.

I saw blue, green, and purple so I figured post it. A better camera is needed though that's for sure.

    I have the same feeling.

OP? Something like that would have freaked me out 10 years ago. Blast white was all I wanted. The 'toner' community has since won me over a bit and I don't get so out of sorts.........:)

Tarnished. Chemicals leached out of the holder and attacked the coin. I have a complete set in a Dansco album that look just like these. I also have some naturally toned coins that look nothing like these.
