Out hunting this morning, does it look like DDR-002 ?

Looks pretty darn close. Nice find!!

I noticed Wexler's coin was submitted by Ron Pope. He has searched literally hundreds of thousands of buffalo nickels for various strike by date studies.

 

Paid 29 bucks too ....

Looks like it from what I can see. This one is the toughest of the four reported DDRs for the date. Quite strong, too, but the first hubbing was limited to the first part of the motto and some of the fur detail on the bison.

The coin is in the mail and when I receive it, I'll take re-photos of it ...

After overlooking the coin, it turned out to be wexler DDO-008 .
