Back in April 2023 I sent in a check for $25.00 to renew my subscription because mine was ending in June. Today I called the number for Subscriptions and the young lady on the other end told me that there company bought out BNR. So I asked were is my check??
Finally came out I will wait 2 months then call them back.... Has anyone had a problem like I have ?

Not this problem but all the print magazines are having problems. "Coins" magazine has been discontinued and contents rolled over into Numismatic News. Numismatic News has also changed the monthly price guide to a quarterly price guide. It won't be long before all print magazines are gone. Sad.

Not only will folks eventually have to change over to paying for digital subscriptions in lieu of hard copies, but they'll also have to pay for WIFI access at shows so they can look up pricing. Personally, I think that the publishers of digital price guides should build the cost of WIFI access at shows into the pricing of their product.

I went to our biggest bookstore chain where they usually sell our paper money catalogue (Charlton Guide to Gov Paper Money) but the only books on the shelf were colouring books. Last year at least I found a Charlton Coin guide but this year nothing! I didn't bother asking the staff b/c I know their response would be, "let us order that for you!" I just wanted to look/browse through it first & then decide whether to purchase (like the good ol' days!)

So I then went over to their extensive magazine racks. These guys carry so many mag topics (Cars, Movies, Cooking, Gaming, Gossip, etc) that it took me about 5 minutes to finally track down a couple numismatic publications. There were 3 a Canadian "Coin News" which opens more like a newspaper (than a magazine) + one for stamps. It was either bi-monthly or quarterly (& seemed quite dated). Also, I don't collect coins (& Coin News is 60-75% coin content) jam-packed with ads, so I put it back. Then I saw a US-based Numismatic News magazine & I think it was $18.00. This, like Coin News is about US coins mostly & the price was half what the Charlton guide cost, so back it went too. I'm not very hopeful about buying current reading material on the hobby!

Numismatic News has a new customer service company so my subscription renewal has been delayed while they transition over to the new company. Sucks really that they can't process renewals while transitioning.

As I said before I sent them a check not knowing they were changing over to a new company. The check was dated march 25th. so I've called back and forth and on the 20th of June they said they will call me back. I told them checks are good for only 3 months then the bank will not honor them. Today is the 29th of June and no one has called me back I just love customer service.
