The CWT variety that appeared on the dustjacket of the Fuld store card book

This Civil War token, which is listed as Fuld variety WI 410-1a, appeared on the cover of the dustjacket of the Fuld store card book. It's still rated as an R-7, 11 to 20 known.

When I was dealer, it was a little like what Dr. Sheldon said about the 1793 Chain AMERI. cent. A challenge to find but common enough for seriously dedicated collectors could count on finding one. I don't know if that is true today. I handled two of them when I was a dealer, this one included.

The horse and wagon thing was big deal for beer, especially in the 19th century, because it needed to be fresh. That part of the reason why Budweiser has the image of the Clydesdale horses.

I believe that the owner of this brewery lost his life on a ship that sank in one of the Great Lakes, but I would have to double check that.

They have great beer around there. Does Point or Blatz ring a bell. Point came in wooden 6 packs

 

There is a Blatz Civil War token or was it Blaz? I have it and will post post it in a few days. John Marr, who made great Civil War token designs, one of my favorites, made the dies for the piece.
