Box? My stuff is scattered across a table. I know my dirty habits already so at least I put them in a flip before they get shoved around though.
A dealer's sorting box is always full. Here's what I pulled out today. Another huge Ptolemaic - a lot of these things seem to fall into my lap these days... An amazing ant of Victorinus... CONCORDIA EXERCITVM sestertius of Antoninus Pius... Clump of uncleaned scyphates from hoard...
Ummm, my coin world might be quite organized, but my work office is more of a fun palace!! ... best office "ever"
Wow, comic book stuff, never expected that. I thought I was pretty much the only one heavily into it.
Lol, people wear batman/superman shirts and not always comic book hounds. Haven't bought a CD in over 10 years.
I have an album with stuff that still needs to be photograhed. New stuff coming in, I am being far more disciplined. The label will be waiting for it along with the tray tag and the spreadsheet filled in. Then just the praying to do in case it gets lost in the mail.
A mix of stuff that: - just arrived - need attribution - need photographing - need rephotographing - just need to be put away
I don't remember seeing your canopic jar drachm. Looking forward to the pictures! That's a wonderful mess of a Byzantine overstrike. Many interesting coins are in this group. Get to work, man!
I'm in Greece right now...but when I get home I'll show mine. In the meantime... ...please enjoy the view from my balcony!
The canopic jar drachm is a pocket-piece candidate when I'm done with its acetone/verdicare treatment. The Byzantine overstrike is probably going to be in the box for awhile as I puzzle it out. I got from Warren and it really is a terrific mess of a coin!
you're 100% correct ... pretty cool, eh? => it also has all of the surface topography, surface buildings, shaft, ventilation raises, etc (everything is to scale) ... it is 25-30 years old (obviously nowadays we use 3D software for doing models, but I've always loved those old-school models, so I keep that one in the office)
I do not have a "sorting box". As soon as they arrive coins are photographed, catalogued, have new information tags printed, and are inserted into a new Saflip. The Saflip then goes into a red coin box.
Hopefully once I pay off the mafia a couple of coin dealers that one will be available for the picking
