A gift

    this No date Libya 1/2 dinar was a gift from one of my wife's co workers who found out i collected banknotes

    yeah it's been used but still overall in good shape and joins the other banknote gifts i have gotten over the years from family and friends

    That’s great. I spent several months in Libya. Was stationed there when I was in the USAF!

    I don't think a coin or banknote ever has to apologize for being used for its purpose. I always think of those marks as badges of honor and wonder what it was doing... "that one is when the little boy grabbed me from Pop's hand and ran to the candy store".

    Would you compare it to Iraq ? my son
    has a friend that did two tours there
    he said it was pretty insane !

    i'm not caring about the country the note came from that isn't my concern it's the thought behind the gift that makes all the difference to me

    Not as bad as Iraq but very unfriendly to Americans. Iraq was a war zone. We did attack Libya from the air but no boots on the ground.
