...Because my checked bag was searched. As when I opened it I found that little slip on top. But then, in my bag of books, one book had another in it like a freakin bookmark! Apparently I got a coin geek TSA agent that's into early half dimes lol...

Good thing he missed the signature. I asked Ken to do a doubled die signature. He loved it, said it's the first he's ever done and assured me he wouldn't do it again on my request :)

The next time you fly, see if you can find some 8x10 glossies of a TSA man trying on a bra and put those in your luggage.

Got TSA Pre too. While that alone would not be worth it (can be used with US airlines only, maybe Canadians too, but no others), I have the Global Entry bundle, and that works regardless of the carrier. However, even with TSA Pre your luggage may still go through some random check ...

Never put valuables like coins, currency or jewelry in checked luggage. They show up nicely on x-ray, and checked luggage is x-rayed in the back room in most airports. My wife's aunt made the mistake of putting jewelry in checked luggage on a flight from Hawaii to CA. Some was missing on arrival. No one was ever accused. Numerous TSA agents and baggage handlers have been arrested for theft from checked bags.

One thing that I check that often gets opened and inspected by TSA is a cylindrical container with fishing rods. It has to be obvious what they are on x-ray, but maybe a lot of TSA agents are fishermen and just want to see the rods. :)

You are assuming that TSA can read - probably looking in the book for pictures of unclothed ladies. Them Seated Liberty and Standing Liberty coins get a bit racy you know...
