1805 bronzed pattern halfpenny, Peck 1303.


1805 silver R91 halfpenny. A restrike by Taylor. The bronzed copper variety is one of the commonest patterns available, but the silver not so. I haven't seen another in the 15 years since I acquired this one.


1806 silver proof halfpenny - Peck 1372. A late Soho striking from currency dies.

Thanks! I didn't collect very many French coins, let alone Napoleonic, during my crown collecting years, but I do like to have coins with historical significance. The 1815 5 francs is one of these coins, marking the brief return of Napoleon to France from exile on Elba before being sent packing back to St. Helena for good.
