GTG ICG 1883 Liberty Nickel + Thoughts on Rev.

    Bought this because of the reverse. Guess the grade and give me your thoughts on the reverse. I think this die set was retired very shortly after this coin was struck. I also think the indentation next to the S is a strike through from die material.

    Well it should be noted that it's a 19.1 RPD Doubling on the 1 to the left and second 8 in upper bowl to left. And lower inner loop of the 3 to the left. 1 is doubled at serf south and line in foot of 1 shows remnant of doubling south 2nd 8 has doubling in upper bowl,3 is doubled Slightly to left . Late die state ms 63. The chip may be a strike through very hard coins to mint in the medal comp.

    Also notice the date placement on the coin see how close the 1 is to the base of the neck. As well as the slant. :)

    I'm struggling with the photobucket zoom in but the coin is beautiful, my guess is MS62 with some awesome die cracks. Great coin!

    Doubled profile also....I will also add I have 2 1883 NC both have rubs on them and came back as MS 63 from NGC

    OK, but that depends on its generation. It could be anything from 55 to 66.
