Dam, never found in Proof in the wild and a DDR too ..
My Son was going through Quarters over the Weekend and found it . I think he's getting hooked and doesn't even known yet, that it's a DDR ...

Here's the images of Quarter .

I can't tell if it's true doubling or not. The reflections of the lighting are playing tricks on my eyes.

Too bad it's not overstruck on a Barber Quarter or a 1941 Canadian quarter... :D

Rick , I have to agree with Chris, it's so hard to image proof coins and tell doubling. I have several that could go either way . Some of your images I want to say yes others it's a crap shoot.

Can't argue that, I have no ideal which way to level or plumb them . Nothing like taking images in the blind .
I did go on wexler site and he has one with just United Doubled . It's weird looking too, maybe because it's a proof . Here's the images from john site ..

If there was images on Concea Site, I would have something to match up to . I did look at Johns images before I took mine . Great coin for the next loco show, that's for sure ....

According to Coneca listing, United & America are lightly doubled and that's where I'll start tomorrow taking images .

Not a DDR in my Opinion but merely the victim of strike doubling.

Strike Doubling is not uncommon for proof coins which get struck a minimum of two and sometimes three times.

I see nothing in the above photo's which would lead me to believe that there's anything there other than strike doubling.

Send it to Mike Ellis then. I am seeing water or oil all over it. Makes it hard to say if it's md, dd, or reflections.

Those first couple sets of images were taken East too West, with to much natural lighting . The last 3 sets of images were taken North too South, first thing in the morning when the sun comes up, til about 10 AM, after that, there's to much natural lighting for Proof coins, at least for me .

After looking at Quarter Dollar, I think an error expert would of lean them way ( -plumb ) . That would of closed up some of the gap on the top of lettering . But North to South is the correct way to take them, at least for this coin .

If Lee is correct and it could be a new discovery, only Mr. Wiles can do that . Mike Ellis only looks at known DDO(s), or DDR(s) ...

Here's the link to the info on what Mike Ellis & James Wiles can do .

If anybody looks at what Lee posted for the DDR, the doubling is running clock-wise ( CW ), which the doubling on my coin is ( CW ) .....

I've owned an example of DDR-001/PR 1-O-V. The spread on "QUARTER DOLLAR" is very evident. I'm afraid I agree with a few others here that the coin you have is machine doubled, not hub doubled.
