Counter Stamp anyone seen before?

    It is not a currently listed Brunk counterstamp, but from the design of the mark it appears to be a silversmith's mark, would be worth researching

    Why is it a "shame" ?
    I'd rather have that coin with the counter-stamp than a similar-grade coin without it.
    The counter-stamp makes it more interesting, I think.

    Great piece; love the early date. If you remove the coin from the holder and take more pics could we see a picture of the coin at an angle? Looks like a deep stamp with a good quality die used.
