Is this peeled plating (using the ref www.error-ref.com) 1947-D?

    It's a Lamination. Planchet Error.

    As stated copper cents are not plated. So that's an incorrect statement to make.

    Cents were not played until 1982. Hard to tell from the photos but it may be a lamination error.

    Here is an example of an extreme Lamination from my collection..

    It's caused by an imperfection in the planchet which causes it to peel, crack and delaminate.

    I remember this. It's such a wide or generalized description. Lamination errors are numerous in types. Thank you
