I'm guessing the stand out feature here is the S mint mark. Nowadays, San Fransisco rarely mints coins for circulation - instead sticking to proofs, commemorative issues, and medals; however, back in the days of ol', San Fransisco often minted large quantities of regular, uninteresting circulation strikes. If you take a look at the Red Book, you'll see mintage numbers are usually a bit lower than Denver/Philly counterparts, but nonetheless struck in very plentiful numbers.
I was helping a guy out with gas, he was $2 over what he thought he'd spend so he dug out a dollar bill and handed me his pocket change. Four quarters and a dime. $2.10, he said keep the dime. I was more interested in one of the quarters
@Kenjr welcome to CoinTalk. It's not usual to see S mint coins in circulation. The circulating Lincoln cents with an S mint mark stopped in 1955 (I remember hunting for them when I was a kid in KY in the 50's) and didn't return till 1968. They also exist for 69, and 70-74 as circulation strikes.
Looks like a normal 1969-S to me. Living on the East coast any S is a nice find so congratulations. Welcome to CT.
Thank you. I’m excited for OP. Found it in POCKET CHANGE. Some members act like they find S POCKET CHANGE all the time. @Kenjr great find
Look everyone I know saves them. People show them on CT and most of time them members interest as well
