Has any member put together a complete collection of each variety of Seated Liberty quarters? If so, please share a few snap shots.
Inquiring minds would really like to know,
    J.T.

Here's the list I have in my spreadsheet for all Liberty Seated quarter types in my Type Set. It is basically a Red Book list. The only one I don't have is the Variety 1 No Arrows. Photos of these attached.

One of the coins my father left me is the 1875 Liberty Seated Twenty-seated, and an 1875 Liberty - Seated Quarter VF-35. I'm not proficient in grading or collecting older coins. Many CT members have been very gracious. I've learned a great deal on this website and I'm hoping to learn more.
    Thanks to all.

WOW! Thanks to the members for the great shots of all the quarters above. If you reference Breen, there seems to be quite a bit of info on these seated ladies. Putting together a set of these varieties in AU-MS condition looks to be an interesting challenge.

How do you feel about mintmark pieces. I always feel that a least a few of them should be part of any representative set.

Since my current interest area is half cents and large cents, I differentiate between varieties and types.

For me, types involve intentional design changes.
Varieties involve the same design but with unintentional, generally minor, differences in design.

An example in the Seated Liberty quarters are the Drapery/No Drapery changes in 1840.
They were intentional design changes, hence (to me) different types.
(The Red Book doesn't give then any labels except Drapery/No Drapery.)

And by my definition Arrows/No Arrows were intentional design changes, hence types.
Same thing with Rays/No Rays. Different types.

Bottom line, call then types or varieties, I've got one of each for my type set.
