@TIF, using the same design, would you be able to make scarves or hair bands for those of us who do not wear ties? I'm thinking something narrow, like the tie, that I could use to accessorize my ponytail.

I would request a Nabataean. Here is a very large image of a year-1 sela (drachm) of Aretas IV, 9 BC...

Also, I would like to buy your accessories in bulk to sell at shows. Let me know when you reach the point of mass production.

  6. I need some decent Nabataean coins. Seeing as how I named my daughter Petra; it seems appropriate.

I'll try to find some in Baltimore - I have a supplier that has bags of them from hoards. In the past, I've been able to procure some at very low prices. The problem is that the coins were so poorly made that you've got to search through hundreds to find a handful of collectible pieces.

No pressure here, but if one of my coins is not selected don't be surprised if I invoke provocatio and have magistrate Tif's decision appealed to the masses.

Now, I know there are some nasty rumors about civil war and all, and about me massing 3 legions in Gaul. I certainly won't give no orders, but if my men decide to march south on their own accord, who am I to stop them?

Again, no pressure....I'm a very benevolent dictator, but once the ram has touched the wall, there is no going back!

Of course I will include some of your coins :). I'll work in coins from as many members as possible.

I'm swamped at the office today and haven't read all of the latest posts but keep them coming. This weekend I'll start editing some of the pictures.

Ok, so no need to order 20,000 pilums, a siege tower, and 10,000 auxiliary barbarian soldiers on Amazon.com then? I was wondering how the Amazon Drones were going to deliver the barbarian hoard to my front door. Might be kind of tricky. Oh well, at least I would have gotten free Amazon Prime shipping on it. ;)

That sounds like it could be a scene from a Sacha Baron-Cohen film lol

    Scene 38:

Ancientcoinguru walks into the coin show auditorium wearing a coin-themed body suit. She forgot to make eye-holes to see, so she starts to stumble into people and tables full of coins. Chaos ensues as people start to shout and things get knocked over, and some in attendence attempt to catch her, but Ancientcoinguru manages to elude capture.

Well, I was hoping to get a new medieval coin at today's CNG auction, but it was not meant to be. If you'll take medievals, how about this one:

If you want to keep it ancient, the first two here are some of my favorites. The third is my first, and thus a bit special to me:

Use any you wish, and mark me down for 1 tie! You're awesome TIF - thanks!
