I like the plague doctor one. Are the obverses intact and unengraved with the Indian and the coin's date showing?

The Indian and wolf are neat, too. Batman doesn't do anything for me. That's not the fault of the artist- I'm just not into Batman or superheroes, is all.

@Brent hobonickel, I think you spend a lot of time and do good work, but when I think of a "hobo nickel" I think of one that uses the existing design, and makes changes to it for a new look. The ones you posted here, seem to just be coins you've used as your palette. Not a fan of that.

I think they're just fine, as artwork, but @Mountain Man does have a point. Traditional hobo nickel art does use the existing design, at least in part, rather than completely replacing it.

Thanks! I have done a lot of classic type hobo nickels. I am doing these mostly to do something different.

I used dateless nickels for all these! The indian is intact but the date is worn off.
I like doing plague doctors! I gave one away but I have three different versions I have done. I did 203 different carvings with different designs. I go over the coin with a wire brush in the end and I need a new wire brush so the other 199 carvings are not done yet.
I actually decided to do Batman and Robin because I liked how different they looked from other Batman hobo nickels.

Thanks! There were some rare examples of a totally different design taking the place of the coins design. I like more traditional designs a lot- I just want to try something different!
