This collection which started as a "Box of 20" ten years ago now has more than that number of just electrum and gold coins alone. (Now at 26, by my latest count. Bidding on two more...)

I'll never be @panzerman, but I've got more gold than I thought.

That MS64 1857 dollar is a stunner. Cool clash too.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I'm familiar enough with most of those... but that second one with the horse is completely alien to me.

Tell me more about that strange thing.

It is a Celtic quarter-stater of Cunobelin. The horse was a common motif on Celtic gold.

I just won this 1977 Canadian $100, which was struck for the 25th anniversary of the Queen’s reign (so it’s a gold coin struck for the silver jubilee).

I started collecting in November of 1976. Mom bought me a subscription to Coins magazine. These were heavily advertised at the time, in early ‘77 when I was a newly-minted collector. I’ve always wanted one ever since.

This one is NGC PR69 UCAM, and as such is tied with 37 others for the top pop. It contains half an ounce of gold.

Rob, that's a beautiful assortment of Au and electrum. I can easily see why you expanded your box of 20 to include all of those ;) Thanks for sharing with us.

Expanded considerably, as it's a "Box of 144" as of tonight.

Twelve dozen. I just got my first gross!

And now 27 are gold or electrum. Which means the coins above constitute 18.8% of my collection, if I did the math correctly.

Gosh darn, those are some perdy coins, and not just because they are gold.
