Cograts, Steve. I know how you feel. My Dad is 95 and he is flying in, in a few weeks. I haven't seen him for a year, and at his age, a year is a long time. W.W.II Vet. Me and my Dad, one year ago.
Awesome, Topcat ... you dudes look good together!! Yah, my cool ol' dad was a bomber pilot in WWII ... man, it must have been a different time, eh?
@stevex6 Mine was a 'Flight Lieutenant' - Pilot Officer - Navigator in Bomber Command. Trained in Canada. "Never was so much, owed by so many, to so few." (Winston Churchill)
well this thread was delightful....awkward as hell in the middle...and then got cool again. sorry i missed it! it was awesome seeing some of you, on a couple of occasions i was VERY surprised to see what you looked like. here's the latest picture i have of myself and my two girls at the indiana military history museum. how'd someone as ugly as me have such pretty girls? since i have pretty girls, i also have firearms, i refrain from posting so things don't get weird here again. my wife did not give me permission to post a pic of her, so i better not...don't want to get in trouble. my dog max did give me permission to post his picture. i didn't know dogs took "selfies". here's a coin i picked up in a small lot recently, a fairly rare provincial coin of elagabalus from mesopotamia.. there is darn near a hole in the obverse, but not quite. the only one i could find online had the following attribution..don't know the weight, i put it in my coin display at the school i work at before i could weigh it. i'll figure it out in a couple months. Elagabalus, Mesopotamia,Edessa, 218-222 AD O: Radiate bust of Elagabalus to right, R: Tyche seated left, river god below. BMC 59 26 mm, ?g.
Nope. You don’t look like a sordid illiterate Goth or Vandal without care for philosophy of Aristotle or works of Hesiod or Cicero. Rather you look like a civilized Roman one or actually a Byzantine one. More exactly…. general Belisarius indeed: ;-)
Sorry, but I had to get this in for him ... => yah, my Dad, (B.L.Peterson) is the dude in the top-left of the photo ... he loves that photo of himself (smooth fly-boy, with a cig)
Ooops ... okay, my nostalgia is all gone (sorry about that ... gawd, it's probably as bad as the gun thingy, eh?) sorry ... I just love coins and I love things that are cool
I don't think so. I think it's great showing these images. I know you're proud of your father, and you should be. I wish I had some digitized images of my father who I am equally proud of and I miss terribly.
