1983 Oddity - opinions welcomed

    Hey all! Been a while since I posted, but going through some of the backstock and found this odd little 1983. Never seen anything like it, doesn't match any listing I found. It's a raised area and seems like doubling but hoping someone more knowledgeable can chime in!

    Bonus crack on the back as is so common on these. 1983.jpg

    Since it's a copper plated zinc planchet it could be a weird plating bubble.

    Odd placement but yes to a plating bubble.

    Have you tried to manipulate the raised area with a toothpick? If it moves at all, it is a plating bubble, if not, it could be a chip.

    Nothing happened with poking and prodding, that's why I didn't think bubble in the first place. Seen plenty of those before
