Any info on this 1978 penny, did something strike it?

  1. So I'm going thru a a box of penny I got earlier and I just came across this 1975 penny and I have never seen anything like it, any info or knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated!!

    DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged

    Could of occured a few different ways but not at the US Mint.

    It looks like it was used in an old time fuse box. Not safe but it would give you power till you could find a new fuse.

    Exactly. A thousand different things could have happened to it. But observing closely at the obverse, the shape of the pointed end of a blunt Philips screwdriver head is evident. That may narrow it down to 500 or different things that could have caused it, maybe.
