Okay, I think I got it. I like the coin but not the crown on his head. I think it should be worn by a Queen, no? ;)

At 5:59 I was finally able to pay.
My cc company stopped payment because I entered the wrong code. They sent me a message and wanted to know if it was me tiring to buy from the Royal mint.
At least the Royal Mint keep the items in the basket till everything was straighten out.
    I bought the 50P & L5 Uncirculated.
I have to get ready to get a x-ray so I'll post images later.

I have a feeling those coins will jump up in value, and we'll be seeing large dealers trying to rake in the dough, by reselling them at ten times the cost.
While not wishing anything negative, I wonder just how long he will last, with his medical issues and all.

Which son will succeed King Charles. I never remember their names, but the older one is a cookie cutter image of his father. The other son did a no no by marrying a Yank. And to make it worse, he and his wife (he lucked up with a beautiful bride), are living in the States as his Grandfather and his wife moved to France.
Anyway, I'm not much a collector of foreign coins any more. And you are right; he would have worn a smaller version of the crown. The crown on the coin is kind of gaudy.
Oh well, to each, his own.

It appears quite similar to the crown of George VI on his coronation coinage, as one might expect.

Almost exactly the same crown as George V coinage but jewels are different. I'm sure a monarch expert can explain...
