Note that the lines you mentioned are at the same angle as all the other lines in the field of the coin, approximately 45°. Clash lines on the obverse would be in a vertical position. Commonly clash mark are found in the field and not the design area. A coin with clash marks in the design area of the coin is quite scarce if not rare to find and is called an "Atypical Clash".
I see your point. I was thinking "Atypical Clash". The way they were separated seemed consistent with the shield stripes. I do see that they are too small to be a clash. Thanks for your remarks. Lou
The lines are not in line with the reverse. That either means the die turned about 35 degrees or no it’s not a clash. I’m going with not a clash.
I agree. I did see the lines did not align with the reverse, but that wasn't a deal killer for me. Just thought it was a possibility - that's all. Lou
