Looks to me like it could be a clash. Looking for opinions. Thanks: Lou Obverse.jpg Reverse.jpg

What would make you think it is a clash?

Looks like bars from the shield on Abe's neck.

Note that the lines you mentioned are at the same angle as all the other lines in the field of the coin, approximately 45°. Clash lines on the obverse would be in a vertical position.
Commonly clash mark are found in the field and not the design area. A coin with clash marks in the design area of the coin is quite scarce if not rare to find and is called an "Atypical Clash".

As pointed out, the lines don't match up in size or angle, for a clash, IMHO

I see your point. I was thinking "Atypical Clash". The way they were separated seemed consistent with the shield stripes. I do see that they are too small to be a clash. Thanks for your remarks. Lou

The lines are not in line with the reverse. That either means the die turned about 35 degrees or no it’s not a clash. I’m going with not a clash.

I agree. I did see the lines did not align with the reverse, but that wasn't a deal killer for me. Just thought it was a possibility - that's all. Lou
