I really don't know if I have found one. Maybe tons of Environmental Damage. Still a toss up for me! Alot of gloss to the coin 20230422_134035.jpg 20230422_134045.jpg 20230422_134107.jpg 20230422_134517.jpg

    Why?

1959 was a year where there were Improperly Annealed planchets discovered.

    Could be.

    IMG_6618.jpeg IMG_6619.jpeg Looks right. I own one
Edit: I’ll add that I found mine CRH
From the edge view I thought, Oh good, a war nickel. Didn’t even know what it was until a few years later, reading CT, before I became a member. Just knew it was different so I saved it. Sure glad I did. Another save for a future numismatist as I’m getting old. No kids. No nephews or nieces interested in Uncle Larry’s hobby. Their mistake

It does look like some of the nickels I've seen before, so I would guess that it is, but sending it to ANACS for authentication may be the only way to verify it.

Looks similar to the one I have. Mine is a 58, but I think you've got it.

1959 is the right date. There are some others (58?).
But if is darker than normal it very well could be a black beauty. (Improperly annealed.)
