If a coin in PCGS MS64 sold for $1250 at heritage in 2005 what's it worth today?

Still looks good in the slab.
    What's it worth today?
I'm assuming it's still worth what it sold for in 2005 or more.
Any thoughts it's already passed half the sold price and I feel 3/4 hammer price would be a good deal?

Depends on how many folks want it.
Some guy could get a steal if no one else bids.

What coin? Just knowing the grade does not tell us much. Depending on the series, it could be worth more, less, or the same now.

It's got enough watchers and a few recent bidders, I expect it to be north of $1000.
    I'll know more tomorrow.
If it could be flipped for 10% ROI? Beats greenbacks sitting in the bank.

I figured that you weren't gonna tell us the coin. Honestly though theres plenty of coins that never see their first sold or previous auction value.

The clues helped me find it. I'm not bidding but I did do some research.
Greysheet is 1,320; recent sales range from 1,080 (low outlier) to 1,800 (high outlier). $1,300 to $1,400 seems to be the average. So this is a case where the coin is selling today for a number close to the 2005 levels (technically a little higher on average).

I have nothing to back this up but from looking through Heritage archives I recall thinking that 2005 had higher coin prices than subsequent years. Perhaps someone with more experience knows when the coin price peaks and troughs have been.

I figured this smart bunch would key in on a few clues.
That's pretty much what I found, that's why I said maybe 10% ROI.
I'm almost more interested in the seller. Local and from when I talked with her she inherited some coins...I'd like to get a chance to see what's in the collection before it goes up for sale.

Without knowing what coin, this thread is useless

If it was a Saint Gaudens 1920 in MS64 back in 2005 it trippled or quadrupled the price.;)

It really depends mostly on the series. Ike dollars have gone down. V nickels have doubled. Morgans have almost doubled. Gold has tripled or more, Etc...

What's that they say about patients?
If it weren't for good looking nurses we wouldn't have any.:p
I'll put up a picture when the listing ends.
    It's not a saint, wouldn't even call it a grail.:wideyed:

If your motivation is a quick 10% ROI, I'll be curious how this works out for you. There are 5 of these currently up on GC and 4 on Heritage in various MS grades. Seems like you're banking on the coin getting less attention when you buy it, and more attention when you sell it. It could easily go 10% the other way. Or am I missing something?
